While fatigue analysis is generally recognized as a key element of design, it is often done with stress analysis followed by a durability analysis, adding to the development time and cost. MSC Nastran Embedded Fatigue (NEF) is an innovative durability analysis module that features the integration of fatigue calculations within MSC Nastran. Mr. Eddy Mak is currently the Senior Director for Technical Services in APAC, responsible for providing pre and post sales technical support, and delivering engineering consultancy and simulation data management solution implementation services to customers in the APAC region.

Prior to joining MSC, Eddy spent more than 20 years in the PLM industry supporting various roles in sales, technical sales, industry marketing and business development. During this period, Eddy was involved with numerous strategic account engagements across the Asia region. Most notably, he was pioneer in driving PLM technologies into the Korea and China shipbuilding industry.

Eddy Mak holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Melbourne, and is currently based in the MSC APAC regional office in Singapore.

Topic : Malaysia's Venture into Space Engineering

Encik Norhizam Hamzah is currently the Senior Vice President and CTO of ATSB overseeing all the engineering projects and works. As part of the portfolio, the main responsibility lies in developing engineering capability and processes which leads toward the implementation of various R&D and space systems development. Networking and collaborations with various partners around the world in the space sector including satellite operators, manufacturers, launch service providers and national space agencies. He has planned and managed space systems programmes and international collaboration in ATSB.

Norhizam Hamzah holds a Master of Science in Flight Dynamics from Cranfield University and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aerospace Engineering from Kingston University, United Kingdom. He has contributed to more than 50 publications, delivered talks in local and international forums and also provides reviews on academic programmes for various universities.

Mohd Faizal Jamaludin Wong is a Principal Engineer in ATSB® and heads the Mechanical Systems Department. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional Malaysia. Mohd Faizal was the Structure & Mechanical Engineer and he also leads the launch of satellite®. His past 12 years working experiences includes structure and mechanical design, assembly and integration and mechanical testing of satellite.

Dr. Dayang Laila Abang Abdul Majid

Dr. Dayang Laila Abang Abdul Majid is a senior lecturer in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her research focuses on advanced materials of composites, aeroelasticity and modal analysis. She received his BE degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1994, her MSc degree in 2001 and PhD degree in 2008 from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She has been awarded several research grants funded by government agencies and UPM. Dr Dayang Laila has more than 30 academic publication internationally including journal papers and conference papers. She also had been international reviewer for several research papers. Dr Dayang had been consultant in modal testing for few projects from aerospace industries. She currently serves as Graduate Member of Board of Engineering (BEM) Malaysia, a member of AIAA and treasurer for National Symposium: Aerospace Technologies (AEROTECH IV)
